The two masters of modern life could be described as “frenemies”. Despite some explosive moments, each admired and learned from the other. Into the mix with talent, love, and rivalry were the two female Impressionists, Mary Cassatt and Berthe Morisot.
This relationship in art is currently the theme of an excellent exhibition at the Musee D’Orsay in Paris.
