Berthe Weill, a pioneering Parisian art dealer, was the first to discover both Matisse and Picasso and the only one to give Modigliani a solo show during his lifetime. Coming from a poor Jewish background, she defied prejudice and hardship, supporting countless young artists and shaping modern art. Now, at last, she is being honored with a major exhibition touring from New York to Montreal and Paris this October.
