Fiddler on the Roof!

Shalom Aleichem wrote the original “Tevye the Milkman” stories that inspired Fiddler in the late 19th century, living in Ukraine. Like many of Aleichem’s works, Fiddler takes place in an imaginary shtetl, a fictionalized version of real Eastern European enclaves that were predominantly Jewish.
