Why are Jews still seen as a threat today or viewed with open hostility (as is more the case since the October 7th massacre)?
When we speak of antisemitism today, are we referring to the irrational ghosts from yesteryear that resurface on occasion when the time is right, e.g. Christian antagonisms, envy of the Jew or a hatred of the ‘other’? Or are there elements within Jewish society itself that are ill-suited to the western, modern temper and give rise to the friction that we see today?
