The Pre-Raphaelites – Victorian Radicals
The Pre-Raphaelites were a small group of young artists trained at the Royal Academy who rebelled against its academic teachings and against the popular taste of the Victorians, in favour of more serious art inspired by the art and literature of the Middle Ages. We will look at the art of the founders of the short lived Pre Raphaelites Brotherhood – John Everett Millais, Holman Hunt and Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
