For this wonderful 4-part series, Olivier Courteaux has picked four of his favourite French personalities with whom he would enjoy great dinner conversation!
You may know the names – but not the stories behind them.
A most revered figure in France to this day, Simone Veil survived the Holocaust and, upon her return to France, embarked in a successful career as magistrate, before serving as health minister and legalizing abortion, not to mention fighting for women’s rights overall. She ended her extensive political career as a member of the French Constitutional Council, the highest legal authority in the country.
