Impressionist portraits
Though Impressionism was principally a landscape style, most of the artists in the Impressionist circle painted portraits if only of their immediate friends and family.
For Manet, Degas, and Renoir portraiture was an important element in their oeuvre. In this talk Patrick Bade will be examining portraits by these three artists as well as more exceptional portraits by Monet, Pissarro, Berthe Morisot and Cassatt.
