Patrick Bade returns by popular demand for another lecture!
John Singer Sargent was an Italian-born American painter whose elegant portraits provide an enduring image of Edwardian Age society. The wealthy and privileged on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean came to his studio in London to be immortalized.
Patrick will cover Sargent’s work in greater detail than time permitted in his previous lecture on Portraits. He will discuss the famous show-stopping portraits Sargent exhibited at the Salon and the Royal Academy as well as the more intimate and informal portraits of friends.
