Janina Bauman, Beyond These Walls: Escaping the Warsaw Ghetto – A Young Girl’s Story
Lydia Bauman, remembering her mother, the writer Janina Bauman (nee Lewinson 1926-2009), considers the values, personality traits, and strategies which enabled her mother to emerge from the horrors of the Warsaw ghetto, antisemitism, and the state corruption of post war Communist Poland.
Lydia’s account is based on her mother’s own wartime and post war diaries, later transformed into ” Beyond These Walls”.
