Modern Voices, Modern Women – New Series with Rena Tobey!
March 10 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm EST
John Singer Sargent
John Singer Sargent was influenced by Whistler, as was every western artist working at the time, both aesthetically and in the quest for independence. A master of languages and a charmer to boot, Sargent’s temperament helped him more easily make his mark. When scandal did erupt, nearly ending his career, a re-energized artist emerged to become the artist of the Gilded Age.
