There was an explosion of “isms” leading up to and just after World War I and the three major movements of Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism determined the course of Western art for the rest of the twentieth century. .
Munch’s “The Scream” is one of the best known and most influential images in the history of Western art but the artist had much more to offer
