Hemingway: How did he change literature for a century?

Henry James said that World War I had ‘used up words’. Hemingway was defined by war, love, loss, masculinity and a fearful world – very modern obsessions.

He also used as ‘few words as possible’. We will look at his life, times, writing and the powerful influence he has on writers today, including Albert Camus, Zadie Smith, Tom Wolfe, JD Salinger, Norman Mailer, Elmore Leonard, Ray Bradbury and Harold Pinter.
