Trudy Gold – Fun with the Movie Moguls!

In 1935, Selznick struck out on his own creating Selznick International pictures. There he created the Garden of Allah, 1936, Little Lord Fauntleroy, 1936, Prisoner of Zenda, 1937, and the Adventures of Tom Sawyer. He became a pioneer of Technicolor for films like A Star is Born 1937 and Nothing Sacred 1937. Amongst his greatest hits were Rebecca and Gone With the Wind, Spellbound and The Paradine Case.

In middle age, he fell in love with Jennifer Jones, divorced Irene, and made several films showcasing Jennifer’s talent, including Since You Went Away 1944, Duel in the Sun 1946, and Portrait of Jennie. 

His last great work was the coproduction of The Third Man.
